LCDR Louis Ramano, Jr., USNR-RET
Louis "Lou" Romano, Jr., LCDR, USNR-RET, is a USNA graduate,
class of '67. He entered the Academy from Miami Senior High where he was a member of the National Honor Society and earned
letters in Football and Track. (this coming March, Lou will be inducted into the school's Football Hall of Fame).
Following USNA graduation, Lou earned his Naval Aviator
wings and became an AEW tailhooker. During the Viet Nam conflict, he made 2 cruises to WestPac on Ticonderoga. He also served
on COMFAISDIEGO staff before leaving active duty in '73. Lou served in the Reserves; flying P-3s out of Glenview from '75-77
and later served on Battle Group 8 staff in New York City from '84-88.
Following active duty, Lou joined the Linde Division
of Union Carbide Corp. (now Praxair, Inc.) serving in a variety of management and executive positions until his retirement
in 2001. During those years, he lived in many locations and traveled the globe representing his company in the Industrial
Gases business. He now is an Executive Vice President for NuCO2, Inc., a national firm which provides carbon dioxide to the
restaurant and convenience store industries.
Lou has completed executive course work at Manhattan
College, Wharton and George Washington Universities and served as a director on several industry, charity, and civic boards.
He has also been a guest lecturer at the Tuck Business School at Dartmouth. Now living in Palm City, FL.
Lou is married to the former Ann Fox Berk, a published
author and former TV executive for NBC. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, she is also a dynamite tennis player.
They married in 1988 and they have 3 grown daughters between them. Lou enjoys golf and tennis in his spare time.
