All of the men who flew as pilots or aircrew are decorated heroes. From the fighter side, Lundin, 6 1/2; Baree, 8; Strane, 13; and Taylor, 3 1/2; victories. From the dive bombers, Cal Platt was credited with multiple hits on the BB Yamato, and was in two battles of the Philippine Sea. Al Fowler crewed in many of the battles and served with, and is the cousin of later RADM Dick Fowler.
